Needham, Walker and Barrow Earn Men's Basketball Weekly Accolades

DEREK NEEDHAM, FAIRFIELD
Sophomore, Guard, 5-11, 180, Dolton, Ill./De La Salle
Needham, a sophomore guard, averaged 18.3 points and five assists per game in helping the Stags post three road wins last week. He started the week by shooting 58 percent from the field resulting in a season-high 27 points in a win at Rider, with six of his seven field goals coming from behind the three-point line.
SHANE WALKER, LOYOLA
Junior, Forward, 6-10, 220, Northampton, England/Montrose Christian
Walker, a junior forward, led the Greyhounds to a 3-0 week after averaging13.7 points and 9.7 rebounds per game. He opened the week posting team-highs with 19 points, eight rebounds and four blocks in a last-second win at Saint Peter's. His free throws with 19.7 seconds remaining tied the game for the last time and Loyola won in on a buzzer-beating shot.
MAAC Rookie of the Week
MAURICE BARROW, FAIRFIELD
Freshman, Forward, 6-5, 210, St. Albans, N.Y./Christ the King
Barrow, a freshman forward, averaged 9.7 points and nine rebounds in assisting the Stags to a 3-0 record, with all the wins coming on the road. He started the week with a double-double, netting 11 points and 13 rebounds in a win at Rider. Barrow just missed a second double-double with a team-high 14 points and nine caroms against Niagara. In between those games, he scored four points and secured five rebounds at Canisius. For the week, Barrow shot 50 percent from the field and 78 percent from the line.
