Kumar and Asare Win Weekly Indoor Track & Field Honors

Edison, NJ - Indoor Track & Field Performer of the Week honors were
awarded to Sunita Kumar of Saint Peter's College and Perry Asare of Rider
University.
Kumar won the women's pentathlon and established a new Saint
Peter's College record of 3,172 points at last weekend's Vermont
Invitational. The finish also places her in the top ten in the east in the
pentathlon. Kumar also had season-best marks in the high jump, long jump,
hurdles and shot put.
Asare, a sophomore, was the runner-up in the long
jump with an IC4A qualifying distance (7.05m) and was third in the triple
jump with an IC4A distance of 14.49m at the Princeton Invitational this past
Saturday.
The 2011 MAAC Indoor Track &
Field Championships will be hosted on February 18 at The New Balance Track
& Field Center in New York, NY.
