Drusys, Burns, O'Rourke and Finn Win Weekly Swimming & Diving Awards

Drusys of Niagara University was awarded MAAC Men's Swimmer of the Week, while
the women's award went to Brianna Burns of Rider University. MAAC Diver of the
Week honors went to Jenna Finn of Marist College and Ian O'Rourke of Niagara.
Drusys won the 50 yard freestyle
(21.88) and the 100 yard freestyle (48.91) as Niagara downed Canisius, 122-121.
Drusys' biggest moment of the meet came as a member of the 200 yard freestyle
relay team that took first place and won the meet for Niagara, in a time of
1:28.34.
Burns won the 50 free (24.73), the 100 free
(52.64) and the 200 free (1:53.65) at the Rutgers Invitational as the Broncs
also defeated Saint Francis, Pa. in a dual at Piscataway. During the same
two-day event, Burns was part of three winning relays, 400 free (3:36.04), 400
medley (4:00.89) and 200 free (1:39.71).
O'Rourke swept both the one-meter and three-meter diving
events, with scores of 327.53 and 292.80, respectively, as the men's team
downed Canisius 122-121.
Finn was the top diver for the Red Foxes in their meet
versus UMBC on January 22. In the 3-meter board, she battled it out with
her teammate Chelaine Eliazar and, in the end, was victorious by .3 points with
a score of 227.32. In the 1-meter board, she finished in third with a
score of 214.12.
The 2011 MAAC
Swimming & Diving Championships will be held February 17-19 at Erie
Community College in Buffalo, NY, hosted by Canisius College and Niagara
University.
