Machado, a junior guard, came within one rebound of a triple-double with his 17-point, 11-assist, nine rebound effort in an 87-62 win over Hofstra last Wednesday. He led the Gaels in scoring for the fourth time this season and recorded his MAAC-leading fifth point-assist double-double. Machado is tied for the NCAA lead with 8.3 assists per game.
MAAC Rookie of the Week
DANNY STEWART, RIDER
Freshman, Forward, 6-7, 210, Philadelphia, Pa./Neumann-Goretti
Stewart, a freshman forward, registered a career-high 14 points and seven rebounds in Rider's 78-64 victory at Howard. He shot 50 percent from the field (3-6) and 80 percent from the free throw line (8-10). Stewart also recorded one steal and one assist in 30 minutes of play.
