2011 MAAC Basketball TV Schedule Opens with Rider at Niagara Friday on ESPNU

Edison, N.J. - The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference begins its 2011 MAAC Basketball Television Schedule with Niagara University hosting Rider University on Friday, January 7. Game time is slated for 9:00 p.m., and will air live on ESPNU, the 24-hour college sports network.

Rider, 10-5 overall and 2-1 in the MAAC, is led by senior guard Justin Robinson, who is contributing 15.7 points and 4.1 assists per game, and senior forward Mike Ringgold, who is posting 12.6 points and 5.1 rebounds an outing for the Broncs.

Niagara, 3-12 overall and 0-3 in the MAAC, is led by freshman guard Antoine Mason, who is registering 16.7 points and 4.3 rebounds per game, and senior guard Anthony Nelson, who is averaging 15.0 points and 4.4 rebounds an outing for the Purple Eagles.

This contest marks the 29th meeting between the two programs. Last year, Rider won both games against Niagara with a 62-61 win at the Gallagher Center on January 24, 2010 and a 70-62 win at Alumni Gymnasium on February 8. The Purple Eagles hold a 17-11 advantage in the all-time series between the two schools.
