Barone, Rivera and Epstein Take Home Weekly Honors

Offensive Player of the Week
Ashleigh Barone, Siena, Sr., F, 5-6, Clifton Park, N.Y./Shenendehowa
Barone erupted for seven points in leading the Saints to a perfect 2-0 MAAC weekend. She registered three goals and an assist, pacing the Saints to key conference victories over Manhattan and Saint Peter's. Against the Jaspers, she led the way with two goals and an assist and added another goal Sunday against the Peahens. With her seven-point performance last week, Barone moved to within one point of 100 for her brilliant career.
Defensive Player of the Week
Trista Rivera, Iona, So., GK, 5-7, Wading River, NY/Shoreham Wading River
Rivera continued her solid presence in front of the Iona net, earning her sixth career shutout with the team's 1-0 win at Fairfield. She made five saves against the Stags while allowing no goals with 15 shots faced in 90 minutes of action.
Rookie of the Week
Amanda Epstein, Marist, Fr., F, 5-5, Jericho, N.Y./Jericho
Epstein continued to hold her place atop Marist's goal scoring category with another strong weekend of play versus Saint Peter's and Manhattan. On Friday, she assisted on Jackie Frey's goal 21 seconds into the second half for her third helper of the season. Against the Jaspers on Sunday, Epstein scored her team-high seventh goal. After receiving a pass from Chelsea Botta, she one-timed a shot into the back of the net in the 16th minute of play. This goal would stand up as the eventual game winner for the fifth time in her rookie campaign.
