Offensive Player of the Week

Kari Honomichl, Niagara, Jr., Outside Hitter, 6-0, Petersburg, Mich./Ida

Kari Honomichl pounded 37 kills for an average of 4.11 kills per set and averaged a double-double in road victories at Marist and Siena over the weekend to extend Niagara's conference win streak to 26 matches. The junior outside hitter from Petersburg, Mich., led the Purple Eagles in kills, was second in total blocks (six) and third in hitting percentage (.312) and digs (22) as Niagara won its eighth straight match en route to improving to 7-0 in conference play. Homomihl recorded her first double-double of the weekend with 17 kills and 11 digs in the five-set win over Marist on Saturday. Homomichl provided a season-high 20 kills to lead all participants in Niagara's 3-1 win over the Siena Saints on Sunday for the program's first win at Siena since Nov. 1, 2003. Homomichl's 20 kills were the second most kills by a Purple Eagles this season and she had 11 digs for her seventh double-double of the season.

Defensive Player of the Week

Janet Pressler, Loyola, Jr., Libero, 5-10,  Smithfield, R.I./La Salle Academy

Janet Pressler continued her outstanding play as the Greyhounds' libero, recording 23 digs in just three sets on Saturday as Loyola defeated Rider in Lawrenceville, N.J. She posted 7.67 digs per set, helping the Greyhounds to a three-set season-high. Pressler also chipped in with two service aces. The junior, who is in her first season as a libero, leads the Greyhounds with 235 digs despite not taking over as the libero until after the first weekend and missing four matches with an early-season injury. Since taking over as the team's libero, Pressler has posted 10 or more digs in 12 of 14 matches.

Rookie of the Week

Catrina Warren, Iona, Fr., Middle Blocker, 6-0, Rancho Cucamonga, CA/Los Osos

Rookie MB Catrina Warren continued a torrid stretch with a .472 hitting percentage and a team leading 23 kills and 27.0 total points.   She averaged 3.83 kills, 0.83 blocks and 1.00 digs in back-to-back three-set sweeps over Saint Peter's and Manhattan.  Warren posted 13 kills and a .476 hitting percentage vs. Saint Peter's and a team-leading 10 kills and a .467 percentage vs. Saint Peter's.
