New Rochelle, N.Y. - Thirty four members of the Iona College swimming and diving team along with head Coach Nick Cavataro and Assistant Coach Ryan Harrell volunteered their help as race marshal on the bike course for the Westchester Triathlon on Sept. 25th along the route in Greenwich, Purchase and Harrison.

The team was stationed at a dozen pivotal intersections along the 25 mile bike course on the Olympic Distance course (1K swim, 25mile bike, 10K run) providing both traffic and safety support for the more than 1500 competitors.

The net proceeds from the Westchester Triathlon are donated to local charities including the Rye YMCA, the Leukemia & lymphoma Society, MAC Angels for ALS, Challenged Athletes and Wounded Warrior Project. http://westchestertriathlon.org/

"This is an event we have been at for eight years as a team and it is always a very inspirational event," commented Coach Nick Cavataro. "To see world class triathlete competing along with physically challenged athletes really makes our group appreciate how lucky they are."
