New Rochelle, N.Y. - The
Iona College Men's and Women's Rowing team completed their Community Service
project on Friday, October 7,
2011. They participated in an event called "Paving the way to
the Marriott". It was sponsored by Campus Ministries and IC Green. They
started at the LaPenta Student Union parking lot and made their way by
foot to the Marriott in New
Roc City
picking up trash and cleaning the streets. It was a 1.2 mile walk along North Avenue. They
started at 3:00 and arrived
back on campus at 5:00. A
total of 28 rowers participated. They took tons of pictures and even
recorded a video while doing their service.
