Offensive Player of the Week
Rycke Guiney, Marist, So., MF, 5-4, Naperville, Ill./Naperville North
In the Red Foxes' two games this past weekend, Guiney led the team with five combined points and 16 shots. In Friday's victory over Niagara, she had a hand in two of the three goals. After an assist on a Samantha Panzner goal, Guiney scored her seventh goal of the season in the 84th minute. On Sunday versus Canisius, she tallied assists on both of the Red Foxes' goal in their 2-2 tie. With three assists, Guiney now has eight helpers on the year, a mark this sits tied atop the single-season all-time mark at Marist.
Defensive Player of the Week
Kelly Boudreau, Fairfield, Sr., GK, 5-8, Farmington, Conn./Farmington
Boudreau completed her home playing career with her 33rd and 34th career shutouts with a 0-0 draw with Loyola and a 4-0 win over Rider, playing all 180 minutes. The senior made 12 saves in the two games, with seven against Loyola and five more against Rider. Against Loyola, she perfectly timed a leap to punch a shot over the cross bar in the 67th minute to preserve the tie, and then made three stops in extra time. Against Rider, she made a point blank save in the 74th minute, one of her three second-half saves, to keep the clean sheet. Boudreau moved to second on the Stags' career saves list on Sunday, with 379, eight from the record, and to third on the career wins list, with 34.
Rookie of the Week
Ashley Small, Fairfield, Fr., F, 5-5, Melville, N.Y./Sayville
Small had a goal in the Stags' win over Rider and was responsible for creating another. In the 25th minute, the rookie used her speed to get by her defender and turned the corner along the end line. As she dribbled inside the box, she was tripped up by another Bronc to earn a penalty kick that Nikki Stanton converted. Small gave the Stags a 3-0 lead in the 44th minute, taking a pass from classmate Torey Camporini and lifting it over the head of the Rider keeper.
