Baltimore, MD - Loyola University Maryland women's soccer players teamed up with D.C.
United and the Baltimore Parks & Recreation department on Tuesday
at Baltimore's Du Burns Arena for a free soccer clinic and autograph
session that drew more than 200 Baltimore city children.
Women's soccer players Taylor Bryant, Kelsey Donohue, Gigi Mangione and Gabrielle Tana led the children in drills and scrimmages as part of the D.C. United Community Soccer Series

In addition to Loyola's players, professional soccer players and members
of the Notre Dame of Maryland University led the children in activities
that helped refine their soccer skills and allowed them to interact in a
positive environment. The soccer clinic was the latest event in Council
President Bernard C. "Jack" Young's P.L.A.Y. (Productive Lives, Active
Youth) campaign, which aims to keep children involved in constructive
programs and allow them to grow mentally, socially and emotionally.
"Being from Baltimore, and growing up here, it is awesome to give
back and to help (the children) experience something I experienced when I
was growing up," Mangione said.
Check out video footage above from the clinic, including interviews
with Mangione and Tana, as well as, D.C. United's Santino Quaranta, a
fellow Baltimore native.
"Anytime you can get involved with kids in the community, it is a
blast for us," Quaranta said. "To incoroporate D.C. United with
Baltimore is very special for me, being from Baltimore."
