United
Way's mission is to advance the common good. With your help, we can
create opportunities for a better life by focusing on: a quality education
that leads to a better job, which provides the income that can support a family through
retirement; and good health. Everything we do supports these building
blocks for a better life - and that affects all of us.
A strategic partner of United Way of Westchester
and Partner, The Volunteer Center is not only the central place for volunteers
to get matched every day - it is also where nonprofits and businesses come for
training and support in creating effective volunteer programs.
The Volunteer Center works with over 500 nonprofits in
the community and referred over 15,000 people to service last year. The Volunteer Center also works collaboratively with
many community partners to create innovative strategies to solve community
issues.
