Morris, Conard, Hiller and Weiner Honored With Weekly Awards

Edison, NJ - Loyola University's Brennan Morris was named the MAAC Men's Swimmer of the Week, while Marist College's Kate Conard earned the award on the women's side. Rider University's Trevor Hiller was chosen as the Men's Diver of the Week and Marist's Lauren Weiner was selected as the Women's Diver of the Week.

Morris remained undefeated in individual events this season, winning three on Saturday against Lafayette and Seton Hall. Morris won the 1000-yard freestyle in 9:11.89 - a time that currently ranks fifth in Division I this season. He also claimed top honors in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:07.53) and 500-yard freestyle (4:37.18) to run his streak of undefeated individual victories to six straight. In addition, Morris touched first as the leadoff leg of Loyola's 200-yard medley relay that finished second overall (split - 23.79; overall - 1:36.21).

Conard continued to exhibit her dominance in the pool for the Red Foxes, as the junior collected wins in both of the distance freestyle events, the 500- and 1000-yd, as well as in the 100-yd backstroke. In the 1000-yd freestyle, she finished with a time of 10:25.73, 11.33 ahead of her second place finishing teammate Bonnie Orr. She earned her second win with a 59.29 time in the 100-yd backstroke. Conard finished her perfect day in individual events with a 7.73 second victory over Rider's Melanie Leonhard in the 500-yd freestyle with a time of 5:07.94. She was also the anchor of the victorious 400-yd freestyle relay team, who cleared Rider's "A" team by over two seconds with a 3:35.69 win.

Hiller sophomore from Galloway Twp., New Jersey won the 1-meter dive (318.15) and placed second in the 3-meter (282.08) in a win over Marist.

Weiner earned 18 points for the Red Foxes in their victory on Saturday, Oct. 29 over Rider. The sophomore finished in first place in both of the boards. She earned 218.85 points in the 3-meter board and 216.38 in the 1-meter.

The 2012 MAAC Swimming & Diving Championships will be held Thursday, February 16 through Saturday, February 18, 2012 at Erie Community College in Buffalo, NY, hosted by Canisius College and Niagara University.
