Monica Roeder, Manhattan

Roeder drained a school-record eight three-pointers and finished with a
career-high 35 points to lead the Jaspers to an 86-53 victory over East
Tennessee State in the consolation round of the Preseason WNIT on
Saturday. Roeder's eight treys matched
the Preseason WNIT single-game record.
She also matched the tournament record with 12 total three-pointers in
three games. Roeder went 8-for-11 from
three-point range against ETSU. She also
had six rebounds, three steals and two assists, as Manhattan picked up its
first Preseason WNIT win in program history.
In the Jaspers' first game of the weekend against host McNeese State,
Roeder tallied a team-high 15 points on 5-for-7 shooting, while adding four
rebounds and two assists.
Rookie of the Week
Kara Marshall, Loyola
Fr., G, 5-8, Gaithersburg, Md./Gaithersburg
Marshall led all scorers with 19 points on 6-for-12 shooting, hitting two
3-pointers while making her first career start in a 65-59 loss at Pittsburgh.
Marshall also had two assists and two steals in 32 minutes of action. The
freshman went 5-for-6 from the free-throw line and helped lead a furious Loyola
comeback, trimming a 21-point deficit down to three over the final 3:30 of the
game. Marshall scored nine points and had two steals during the final run by
the Greyhounds, as Loyola outscored the Panthers 21-6 in the final three and a
half minutes of the contest. Loyola outscored Pitt 52-45 with Marshall on the
floor.
