Burroughs, Wagner Claim MAAC Indoor Track & Field Weekly Awards

Edison, NJ – Rider University’s James Burroughs was named the MAAC Men’s Indoor Track & Field Performer of the Week, while Manhattan’s Karolin Wagner claimed the award on the women’s side.
Burroughs, a junior from West Orange, N.J., won the 60-meter hurdles in an IC4A qualifying time of 8.2 seconds at the Princeton New Year’s Invitational. He was also a member of the Broncs’ 4x400-meter relay team that placed second in 3:22.33.
Wagner, a freshman from Ribbesbuettel, Germany, broke a six-year-old school record in the pole vault at the Brother Jasper Invitational on Friday. She cleared 3.71 meters (12 feet, two inches) to win the competition and better Jenna Daly’s old school mark by one centimeter. With that performance, Wagner qualified for the ECAC Championships.
The MAAC Men’s and Women’s Indoor Track & Field Championships will be held on Friday, February 17th at The New Balance Armory Track & Field Center in New York City.
