Marist Clinches 2011 MAAC Women's Basketball Regular Season Title

Edison, NJ - For the seventh straight season, #21/24 Marist College has claimed the MAAC Women's Basketball regular season championship and the number one seed in the 2011 Spark Energy MAAC Basketball Championship at Webster Bank Arena at Harbor Yard.
The Red Foxes clinched the top seed with a 79-38 victory over Saint Peter's Monday night, improving their record to 16-0 in the league and 25-2 overall. Marist will try to complete its second perfect regular season in three seasons with games at Siena and home to Fairfield this weekend.
Marist will begin its quest for a sixth straight conference title, and seventh in eight years, at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, March 4. The women's semifinals will take place on Saturday, March 5 at 9:30 and 11:30 a.m. The 2011 Spark Energy MAAC Women's Basketball Championship Game Presented by Webster Bank is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. on Monday, March 7. The game will be broadcast live on ESPNU.
