Rider Hosts MAAC Basketball Doubleheader on Sunday

Edison, N.J. - Rider University's Alumni Gymnasium will be the site for the final televised MAAC men's and women's basketball doubleheader this season on Sunday February 27. Both games will air live on MSG Plus, while the men's game will be joined in progress on MASN.

The first game of the twin bill will feature a match-up between the women's programs from Niagara University and Rider at 11:30 a.m. Niagara, 0-17 in the MAAC, is led by senior forward Liz Flooks, who is contributing 10.3 points and 5.0 rebounds per game, and freshman guard Chanel Johnson, who is posting 5.8 points and 3.5 rebounds an outing for the Purple Eagles. Rider, 4-13 in the MAAC, is led by sophomore guard Shereen Lightbourne, who is averaging 9.6 points and 2.4 rebounds a night, and junior guard Ali Heller, who is adding 8.0 points and 1.9 rebounds a game for the Broncs.

Game two has the men's program from Saint Peter's College taking on the Broncs for a 1:30 p.m. tip-off. Saint Peter's, 11-6 in the MAAC, is led by senior guard Wesley Jenkins, who is registering 12.6 points and 5.0 rebounds a night, and senior forward Jeron Belin, who is contributing 11.1 points and 5.4 caroms a night for the Peacocks. Rider, 12-5 in the MAAC, is led by senior guard Justin Robinson, who is averaging 15.6 points and 4.0 assists an outing, and junior guard/forward Novar Gadson, who is registering 13.2 points and 5.7 rebounds a night for the Broncs.
