Niagara to Host Marist on Super Bowl Sunday on MSG and MASN

Edison, N.J. - The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference continues its 2010-11 MAAC Basketball Television Schedule with Niagara University hosting Marist College on Sunday, February 6. Game time is slated for 3:00 p.m. at the Gallagher Center, and it will air live on the MSG Network and MASN.
Marist is currently 4-20 overall and 3-9 in the MAAC. The Red Foxes are led sophomore guard Sam Prescott, who is registering 10.9 points and 3.4 rebounds per game, and sophomore guard Candon Rusin, who is averaging 8.5 points and 1.6 boards an outing.
Niagara is now 4-20 overall and 1-11 in league play. The Purple Eagles are led by senior guard Anthony Nelson, who is averaging 15.8 points and 4.5 rebounds per game, and freshman guard Marvin Jordan, who is registering 11.4 points and 3.1 rebounds a night.
In their last matchup, Prescott scored 18 points to lead four Marist players in double figures as the Red Foxes won their first game of the season, 80-72 over Niagara on Dec. 3 in their MAAC opener. Marist jumped out to a 30-10 lead en route to a 44-25 halftime advantage. The Purple Eagles closed to within six points on two occasions, the last with 50 seconds to go. The Red Foxes then hit 5 of 6 free throws in the next 22 seconds to seal the win. Candon Rusin added 17 points, Jay Bowie had 15 and R.J. Hall chipped in 12 for Marist, which is 11-3 all-time in MAAC openers. The Red Foxes shot 46.2 percent from the field (24 of 52) while holding Niagara to just 35.7 percent (25 of 70). Skylar Jones scored 20 to lead the Purple Eagles, while Nelson had 16 and Kashief Edwards 15.
