MICHAEL GALLIC, MARIST
Senior, OF, 6-2, 210, Tolland, Conn./Tolland
Gallic hit .667 for the Red Foxes this past weekend, as they defeated UNC Wilmington and West Virginia and fell to Miami (Ohio) in the Hughes Bros. Challenge. He was 8-for-12 with four doubles for a slugging percentage of 1.000, and had three runs scored and an RBI. Gallic enjoyed a multi-hit game in every contest this weekend, as he went 3-for-4 against UNC Wilmington and West Virginia and was 2-for-4 against Miami (Ohio). He also was 3-for-3 in stolen base attempts with a steal in each game.
MAAC Pitcher of the Week
MIKE THOMAS, RIDER
Senior, LHP, 6-2, 180, Forest Hill, Md./Fallston
In the season opener at East Tennessee State, Thomas pitched six innings and struck out 10 while walking just two and allowing just two hits. He left the game with a 4-1 lead in the no decision.
MAAC Rookie of the Week
JOHN ROONEY, SIENA
Freshman, OF, 5-11, 180, Syracuse, N.Y./Bishop Ludden
Rooney hit safely in all three games southern power Louisiana, posting a .429 average in the weekend series from the leadoff spot. He hit safely in all three games, and collected three hits in the middle game (a 4-3 extra inning loss), and two in the series finale (a 1-0 loss). Rooney scored three runs and made eight putouts, playing a perfect right field.
