Greene and Janasek Earn Weekly Tennis Honors

Edison, NJ - MAAC Men's and
Women's Tennis Players of the
Week were awarded Landon Greene of Marist College and Rachel Janasek of Loyola
University Maryland.
Greene
won five matches over the weekend including three in straight sets in singles.
He posted two wins at fifth singles over Max Sztabholz of Stony Brook and
Patrick Chase of Yale. Greene defeated Sztabholz 6-3, 7-5 and Chase 6-4, 7-5.
He rounded out the weekend with a 6-0, 6-2 win at fourth singles against FDU's
Mark Hemy. In doubles, Greene paired with Nicolas Pisecky to win two matches
and lost just five games combined. The duo defeated Stony Brook's Mehmet Duru
and Francesco Arciuli 8-2, and Hemy and Marco Jermersic of FDU 8-3.
Janasek led the Greyhounds to
a victory in their dual-match opener Saturday night against Morgan State. She
was a straight-set winner over Alexis McCoy, beating the Bears' No. 1 player,
6-1, 6-2. Janasek then teamed with Joy Johnson in the No. 1 doubles slot for an
8-4 victory over McCoy and Pola Olczak.
The 2011 MAAC
Tennis Championships will be hosted on April 20-21 at the USTA Billie Jean King
National Tennis Center in Flushing, NY.
