Player of the Week
TUCKER NATHANS, FAIRFIELD
Senior, 2B, 6-1, 195, Warwick, N.Y./Salisbury Academy
Nathans paced the Stags' offense in a three-game series at UMBC by batting .688 (11-for-16) with eight runs scored, four RBI, and two stolen bases. He had at least three hits in each game for a 1.062 slugging percentage and a .688 on-base percentage. Nathans also did not strikeout at all. With his 11 hits on the week, he pulled within eight of Fairfield's career hits record (228).
Pitcher of the Week
TYLER SMITH, RIDER
Sophomore, LHP, 6-2, 220, Westmont, N.J./Haddon Township
In two games this week for the Broncs, Smith posted a save and a win. He recorded his second save of the season (11th overall) in Rider's 8-7 win over Lafayette, striking out two batters in one inning. Smith then earned the 12-9 win at West Virginia, going seven innings, allowing five hits and one earned run in the victory.
Rookie of the Week
EDDIE MACALUSO, IONA
Freshman, LHP, 5-11, 165, Islip, N.Y./Islip
Macaluso won his second game in as many collegiate starts in a complete-game five-hit win over the BIG EAST's Villanova on Saturday. He allowed two earned runs and limited the Wildcat hitters to a .167 batting average against. Macaluso struck out two batters and needed just 90 pitches to complete Iona's first win over a BIG EAST opponent in more than a decade.
