Player of the Week
PAIGE FREIBERGER, CANISIUS
Senior, 3B, 5-4, Hercules, Calif./St. Mary's
Freiberger hit .727 (8-for-11) with two doubles, four RBI, three runs scored and a stolen base last week as the Golden Griffins went 3-1 at the UMBC/Coppin State Invitational in Baltimore. For the week, she posted an .800 on-base percentage and a .909 slugging percentage to go with four walks while recording eight assists on defense.
Pitcher of the Week
KIM BRYSON, NIAGARA
Freshman, P, 5-7, Perrysburg, Ohio/Perrysburg
Bryson went 2-0 in two starts for Niagara during the 2011 UMBC Dawg Pound Invite, going the distance in both games. On the weekend, she went 2-0 with a 0.50 ERA, while only allowing six baserunners and striking out 15 in 14 innings worth of work. Bryson threw a complete game shutout against Coppin State, striking out eight, while scattering four baserunners (three hits and a walk). In a complete game against Drexel, Bryson allowed one run on a one hit and a one walk and striking out seven during the 5-1 win.
Rookie of the Week
JESSIKA-JO SANDRINI, SIENA
Freshman, P/OF, 5-7, Adna, Wash./Adna
Sandrini led Siena to two wins on Sunday in their first day of action at the Rebel Spring Games. She reached base in all three plate appearances against Colgate, scoring two runs in a 3-2 come-from-behind victory. Against Lafayette later that day, Sandrini hurled a complete-game, five-hit shutout while also going 1-for-2 with a run scored in a 4-0 win.
