TERESA HEALY, NIAGARA
Senior, 2B, 5-6, Las Vegas, Nev./Centennial
As the Purple Eagles went 3-1 in the UMBC Spring Classic, Healy batted seven of 15 for a .467 batting average, with six runs, 12 RBIs and five home runs, breaking Niagara's career home run record in the process. She had at least a home run in every game. Healy had an on-base percentage of .500, while a slugging percentage of 1.467.
MAAC Pitcher of the Week
SARAH JACKSON, IONA
Junior, P, 5-8, Citrus Heights, Calif./Del Campo
Jackson went 1-2, posting a 1.84 earned run average this past week as the Gaels competed at the Hawaii Spring Fling Invitational. Against the #20 Warriors, Jackson went nine innings in an extra innings affair, allowing just four hits in a 1-0 Gaels' victory. She struck out 13 batters, while walking three. Against Cleveland State, Jackson was the hard luck loser in a 2-1 loss. She surrendered two unearned runs in the first and was clean in her five other innings.
MAAC Rookie of the Week
JESSIKA-JO SANDRINI, SIENA
Freshman, P/OF, 5-7, Adna, Wash./Adna
Sandrini hit .346 with five RBI this past week. She went 3-for-3 with a double, three RBI, and a run scored against Army. Sandrini also had a solid week in the circle, going 2-2 with a 3.46 ERA. Her wins were both complete-game gems, as she limited both Columbia and Houston Baptist to just one earned run apiece. In 26 1/3 innings, she struck out 14 hitters.
