MAAC Offensive Player of the Week

KATIE MACKAY, FAIRFIELD

A, Sr., 5-9, Salem, CT/East Lyme

Mackay tallied a team-leading 10 points this week as the Stags defeated Holy Cross at home and nearly upset #10/9 James Madison on the road. She touched net six times and handed out four assists. Mackay scored three goals in each game, going a perfect 3-3 in free position shots on the week. She finished the win over Holy Cross with six total points, with three assists. Mackay added an assist against James Madison and also recorded a draw control in each game.

MAAC Defensive Player of the Week

JULIA DIBERNARDO, MANHATTAN

GK, So., 5-5, Loudonville, N.Y./Shaker

Recording back-to-back victories against Wagner and Sacred Heart, DiBernardo compiled an impressive 26 saves while facing 59 total shots. The sophomore goalkeeper also picked up six ground balls and caused three turnovers in the two contests.

MAAC Rookie of the Week

NINA VENEZIALE, IONA

M, Fr., 5-7, Old Bridge, N.J./Old Bridge

Veneziale had eight goals in two games for Iona this week.  She earned her first career tally at Sacred Heart to give the Gaels an early 1-0 lead in the eventual loss.  Veneziale followed to lead Iona to its first win of the season over Central Connecticut, powering to six goals on six shot attempts. Veneziale added two draw controls and one ground ball and was 2-2 from free position. On the week, Veneziale had a perfect 1.000 shots on goal percentage.
