Gorczakowski and Raynor Earn Weekly Tennis Honors

Edison, NJ - MAAC Men's and
Women's Tennis Players of the
Week were awarded to Bobby Gorczakowski of Loyola University Maryland and
Kelsey Raynor of Marist College.
Gorczakowski scored a pair of
victories for the Greyhounds in their 5-2 victory over host Coppin State last
Tuesday. The sophomore defeated Jahra Wigfall, 6-1, 6-0, in singles action and
earlier in the afternoon teamed with Connor Lisco to top Wigfall and Justin
Hodge, 8-0 in doubles play. Gorczakowski continued his undefeated singles
record in dual matches with the win.
Raynor
was the top player for the Red Foxes in their matchup with Quinnipiac on
Saturday, March 5. In singles action, she collected Marist's only team point as
she won the number one singles match by a score of 7-6 (7-5), 6-2. She paired with Joana Sun to win her number
one doubles match with a 8-5 score.
The 2011 MAAC
Tennis Championships will be hosted on April 20-21 at the USTA Billie Jean King
National Tennis Center in Flushing, NY.
