Edison, NJ - Outdoor Track & Field Performer of the Week honors were awarded to Leonard Korir of Iona College and Megan Tice of Manhattan College.

Korir picked up where he left off last month indoors with a dominating first place performance in the 5,000-meter event at the 2011 Duke Invitational. Korir's time of 13:52.59 was nine seconds faster than Duke's Josh Lund in the event. The time was an outdoor personal best for the Gael junior and third fastest time in school history in the event. Only Richard Kiplagat (13:34.66, 2006) and Abraham Ng'eitch (13:51.68, 2008) have topped the time. Korir bested Peter Riley's 2002 Penn Relays time of 13:52.81 by .22 seconds.

Tice won the high jump competition with an ECAC-qualifying clearance of 1.70 m (5'7) at the FDU Track Classic on Saturday.  She also placed 10th in the long jump with a season-best mark of 4.86 m (15'11½).

The 2011 MAAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships will be hosted May 7-8 at Rider University in Lawrenceville, NJ.
