Leonard led the Gaels to a 4-0
start in the opening weekend of MAAC play with 12 goals and nine assists for 21
total points. Leonard's best game came against St. Francis (NY) when she
registered five goals and four assists. She also had nine steals and four
ejections drawn over the weekend.
MAAC Defensive Player of the Week
MOLLY
CHAMBERLAIN, SIENA
A, Sr., 5-9, Kingston, PA/Wyoming Valley West
Chamberlain thrived
on defense in four games this past week. She totaled 10 steals, along with
three ejections drawn and one field block. In Siena's first-ever win over
Marist, the senior tallied three steals and an ejection drawn.
MAAC Rookie of the Week
AMY OLSEN, IONA
2M, Fr., 5-8, Baytown, TX/Ross Sterling
Olsen tallied nine
points on six goals and three assists to help lead Iona to a 4-0 start in
conference play. She had two goals apiece against Marist and Villanova and one
goal against each of Siena and St. Francis (NY).
