Marist, Fairfield To Play for MAAC Men's and Women's Tennis Championships

Flushing, N.Y. - Marist
and Fairfield will meet in both the MAAC Men's and Women's Tennis Championship
finals for the fourth consecutive year. The Marist men have won three straight
titles, while the Fairfield women have claimed two consecutive championships.
The Fairfield women, the tournament's top seed, defeated
Siena, 4-0, in their semifinal. Marist topped Loyola, 4-3, by claiming the
doubles point and wins at second, third, and fourth singles.
The Marist men cruised into the final with a 7-0 victory
over fourth-seeded Loyola. They will be aiming for their fourth straight
championship match victory over Fairfield, who advanced with a 6-1 result over
Niagara.
The women's championship match will begin at 8:30 a.m. The
men's match will follow at approximately 11:30 a.m.
