Siena Sweeps April Golfer of the Month Honors

Edison, NJ - MAAC Men's and Women's Golfers of the Month for April were awarded to Justin Deitz and Katelynn Mannix, both of Siena College.

Deitz notched two second-place finishes in April. He shot rounds of 70 and 73 at the Lafayette Invitational (4/9 and 4/10), checking in at minus-one for the tournament. The junior also finished second at the rain-shortened Rhode Island Invitational (4/22), with his even-par 71 being two shots off the lead.

Mannix led Siena at all three tournaments the Saints played this past month. Most notably, she finished second at the rain-shortened Columbia Roar-EE Invitational (4/16), two shots off the lead despite playing through severe weather. She also tied for 18th at the Brown Invitational (4/11) and tied for 22nd at UNC-Wilmington (4/4).

The 2011 Men's and Women's Golf Championships will be held April 29-May 1 at Disney's Magnolia Golf Course in Lake Buena Vista, Florida.
