Bayley and Rostant Earn Outdoor Track & Field Weekly Honors

Edison, NJ - Outdoor Track
& Field Performer of the Week honors were awarded to Matt Bayley of Iona
College and Cara Rostant of Manhattan College.
Rostant won the 400 meters in
an ECAC-qualifying time of 55.22 seconds at the Sam Howell Invitational on
Saturday. Rostant, who had already qualified for ECACs in the 200, led a 1-2
finish for Manhattan in the event.
Sophomore Matt Bayley earned
first place honors in the 3000-meter run at the Colonial Relays in
Williamsburg, VA. Bayley out kicked Villanova senior Hugo Beamish by .07
seconds with his time of 8:19.68 in the 73-runner race field. He also
earned a qualifying time for the IC4A Championships.
The 2011 MAAC
Outdoor Track & Field Championships will be hosted May 7-8 at Rider
University in Lawrenceville, NJ.
