McLeod Winner DeNyse Bound for NCAA Regional in San Diego

Loudonville, N.Y. - Siena senior Don DeNyse III will head west to compete in
regional play at the NCAA Golf Championships later this month. Seedings and
regions were announced Monday evening, and DeNyse will compete at the San Diego
regional, to be contested at the Farms Golf Club in Rancho Santa Fe,
California, on May 19.
DeNyse punched his ticket to the tournament with a
final-round 69 at the MAAC Championships last week, one that forced a
sudden-death playoff with Loyola's Patrick McCormick. While McCormick's drive
was off line, DeNyse made a two-putt par, topping his opponent's bogey and
capturing the conference's individual title.
The Siena co-captain is the #10 seed at the regional, one
of six around the country. The top finishers will advance to the final round of
the NCAA Championships, which begins on May 31 at Oklahoma State.
