Edison, NJ – The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference announced the members of the 2011 Women’s Tennis All-MAAC Teams, highlighted by Fairfield’s Monica Yajima, who was named Player of the Year.

Also earning individual honors were Alexandria Livingston of Saint Peter’s, who was named Rookie of the Year, and Marist’s Roge Nesbitt, who was named Anaconda Sports Coach of the Year.

Yajima, a freshman from Greenwich, Conn., had a perfect 5-0 record in the conference and went 26-4 overall. She held a 15-1 record at first singles as she helped lead Fairfield to an undefeated regular season in the MAAC. Yajima, along with Carolina Emhardt, went 4-1 in league play at first doubles.

Livingston, a freshman from Moscow, Idaho, played at first singles for the Peahens and registered and overall record of 16-10 with a 4-2 mark in league matches.

Nesbitt, currently in her fifth season at Marist, led the Red Foxes to their third league title in program history. Marist went 5-1 during the MAAC regular season and then avenged its loss to Fairfield in the conference championship match. The Red Foxes (13-7 overall) are on a seven-match winning streak entering the NCAA Championship.
