2011 MAAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships Begin Saturday

Edison, NJ - The 2011 MAAC Men's and Women's Outdoor Track Championships will be held this weekend, May 7-8, at Rider University in Lawrenceville, N.J.
The meet begins at 4 p.m. on Saturday with the hammer throw, javelin, and long jump. Running events will start at 4:30 p.m. with women's 4x800-meter relay.The 3000-m steeplechase and the 10000-m will also take place on Saturday.
The bulk of the meet is on Sunday with a trio of field events starting at 11 a.m. At noon, the women's 4x100-m relay will kick off the day's running events.
The MAAC will hold its annual awards banquet following the completion of the meet on Sunday. Video will be posted in the On Demand section of MAACSports.com.
The Manhattan men enter the meet having won 13 consecutive team titles, while the women's squad will be aiming for their 12th championship in 14 years. The Saint Peter's women will be looking to continue their success after winning the 2011 MAAC Indoor Track & Field Championships.
