LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. – Siena is heading back to Syracuse, again. The Saints, who played in their inaugural NCAA Tournament at Syracuse two years ago and earlier this season defeated Air Force in the Carrier Dome are heading back to Central New York for the First Round of the NCAA Division I Men’s Lacrosse Championship. The Saints will take on the top-seeded Orange Sunday, May 15th at 7:30 p.m. on ESPNU.

Siena clinched its second MAAC Championship in the past three seasons with their 12-3 victory over Detroit earlier Sunday in Buffalo. The Saints, which enter the NCAA Tournament with a new program record in wins, are 13-4 overall.

Meanwhile the Orange carry a 14-1 record into postseason play and are ranked No. 1 nationally in both the USILA Coaches’ Poll and Nike/Inside Lacrosse Media Poll. Syracuse, which won the Big East Championship, has won two of the last three NCAA Championships and captured 11 overall.

The Saints fell to the Orange in their only previous NCAA Tournament Appearance and only other meeting with Syracuse 11-4 in 2009. Syracuse, which was the No. 2 overall seed that season, went on to win the National Championship.

Siena’s only other trip to the Carrier Dome came earlier this season when the Saints captured their first win of the year 11-6 over Air Force on Feb. 20.

Tickets to Sunday’s game go on sale Monday, May 9 beginning at 10 a.m. at the Carrier Dome Box Office and online at SUathletics.com. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students (with valid ID) and youth 12 and under. Parking for the game is $10.

The winner of the game will advance to play the victor of the matchup between North Carolina and Maryland in the Quarterfinal Round.
