OVERLAND PARK, KS - Senior forward/midfielder Krystian Witkowski (Rochester, N.Y.) was selected as one of 30 candidates for the Lowe's Senior CLASS Award. The award will be given in December to the candidate who best exemplifies excellence in the four C's of community, classroom, character and competition.

Student-athletes who are eligible for this award must be classified as an NCAA Division I senior and have notable achievements in four areas of excellence - community, classroom, character and competition. An acronym for Celebrating Loyalty and Achievement for Staying in School, the Lowe's Senior CLASS Award focuses on the total student-athlete and encourages students to use their platform in athletics to make a positive impact as leaders in their communities.

Witkowski has earned post-season accolades from the MAAC in each of his first three years of completion, including two All-MAAC First Team nods and a spot on the MAAC All-Rookie Team. He has also been honored by NSCAA the past two seasons, as he was named NSCAA Third Team All-North Atlantic Region in 2009 and Second Team All-North Atlantic Region in 2010. Last season, he led the team in points with 24, assists with six, game-winning goals with four and tied for the lead in goals with nine. During his career he has notched 17 goals and 10 assists in 51 total games. In the classroom, he has earned honors from the MAAC on the MAAC All-Academic Team two years, and on the ESPN The Magazine/CoSIDA Academic All-District Second Team in 2010.
