New Rochelle, NY - On Saturday, September 10, 2011 players from Iona College Men's Water Polo served as volunteers at the Toughman Triathlon for the second year in a row.  Head Coach of the Men's Water Polo team, Brian Kelly, participated in the Toughman challenge for the 2nd year in a row as well.  This year he completed a 1.2 mile swim, a 13.1 mile run, and a 56 mile bike ride within 6 hours and 37 minutes.  The team arrived to the event around 6 a.m. when the sky was still dark.  They helped the Toughman volunteer crew set-up the event and helped participants get registered and ready for the competition.  The team served as life guards assisting the swim participants with getting into and out of the water to start off the first event of the triathlon.  In addition, they assisted with the distribution of food and water to participants, volunteers, and community supporters.  The team stuck around to the very end of the triathlon and assisted with clean-up.  All volunteers had an amazing time helping out with the event.
