DelaCruz, Giovagnoli Chosen as Runners of the Week

Edison, NJ - Marist's Arquimedes DelaCruz was selected as the MAAC Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week, while Rider's Heather Giovagnoli was named the Women's Runner of the Week.

DelaCruz, a junior from Wantagh, N.Y., took first place and helped the Red Foxes to a team title at the season-opening Marist Invitational on Sept. 3. He completed the 5.3k course in 16:56.29, beating out Marist teammate Matthew Flint by just .23 of a second.

Giovagnoli, a senior out of Royersford, Pa., finished first at the TCNJ Blue/Gold Classic held at Rosedale Park. She completed the women's 5,000 meter race in 18:58, helping the women's team to a second place finish overall.
