Yarde, Coles Earn Second-Consecutive MAAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week Honors

Corielle Yarde, Marist
Senior, Guard, 5-8, Reading, Pa./Schuylkill Valley
Yarde once again put her team on her shoulders late in their game
against Kansas State, scoring nine of Marist’s final 13 points as the Red
Foxes’ furious comeback fell just short, dropping a 57-56 decision. Yarde tied
for game-high honors with 21 points and also led Marist with six rebounds and
four assists while again logging a team-high in playing 37 minutes. She paced the Red Foxes offense, going 7-14 from the
floor, including two big three-pointers late in the game, and contributed on
the defensive end with three steals and her team-leading 16th block
of the season.
MAAC Rookie of the Week
Tehresa Coles, Siena
Fr., Guard, 5-9, Loudonville, N.Y./Colonie Central
Coles had another superb performance on Thursday, leading
the Saints to a 27-point road rout at Maine. The reigning MAAC Co-Rookie of the
Week established new career-highs once again with 12 points, six steals and
five assists. She shot 5-11 from the field, added a block and all three of the
guard’s rebounds came off the offensive glass. Additionally, she posted a 5-to-1
assist-to-turnover ratio.
