Marist Hosts MAAC Basketball Doubleheader Friday

Edison, N.J. - Marist College's McCann Arena is the site for the next MAAC men's and women's basketball doubleheader to air this season on the ESPN platforms on Friday, January 20.
The women's game between Loyola University Maryland and Marist will take place at 6:00 p.m. and air live on ESPNU, the 24-hour college sports network. It can also be viewed via WatchESPN.
Loyola, 6-11 overall and 2-4 in the MAAC, is led by junior guard Katie Sheahin, who is registering 14.9 points and 6.1 rebounds per game, and senior guard Miriam McKenzie, who is averaging 14.4 points and 7.8 caroms a night for the Greyhounds. Marist, 12-6 overall and 7-0 in the MAAC, is led by senior guard Corielle Yarde, who is contributing a league-high 15.7 points and 6.8 rebounds per game, and senior forward Brandy Gang, who is posting 11.2 points and 3.3 rebounds an outing for the Red Foxes.
The men's contest between Manhattan College and Marist will start at 9:00 p.m., and can be seen live on ESPN3.
Manhattan, 12-7 overall and 5-2 in the MAAC, is led by junior guard/forward George Beamon, who is averaging 17.1 points and 5.7 rebounds per game, as well as freshman forward Emmy Andujar, who is contributing 8.9 points and 5.3 rebounds an outing for the Jaspers. Marist, 7-11 overall and 2-5 in the MAAC, is led by junior guard Devin Price, who is averaging 14.2 points and 3.1 rebounds an outing, and freshman guard/forward Chavaughn Lewis, who is netting 12.8 points and 3.9 rebounds a night for the Red Foxes.
