Riverdale, N.Y. - The
Manhattan College volleyball team celebrated "Lee National Denim
Day" for breast cancer awareness during its match against Fairfield on
Sunday, Oct. 21. This marks the fifth straight year in which the Jaspers
are participating in the event.
The Jaspers wore pink shoelaces and accessories, and Sunday's game programs
were also be printed in pink. In addition, there was a bake sale and
raffle, as well as a donation table. All proceeds go to benefit the
Women's Cancer Programs of the Entertainment Industry Foundation.
National Denim Day was started by the Lee Jeans Company in 1996 and is one of
the largest single-day breast cancer fundraisers in the United States.
More than $80 million has been raised to date, and National Denim Day brings
together nearly one million supporters each year.
