Fairfield, Conn. - The JTB Heart Club is a campus chapter of the John Taylor
Babbitt Foundation, a non-profit 501 (c) (3) foundation established to help
prevent Sudden Cardiac Death. The foundation is named in honor of John
Taylor Babbitt who died at the age of 16 when his heart stopped during a youth
basketball game at his parish. JTB Heart Clubs are organized and run by
students at high school and college campuses. The clubs serve as an
extension of the Foundation and assist in advocating the Foundation's four
goals: Advocacy, Education, Defibrillators, and Fundraising.
Proceeds from this even were
used to support the Fairfield University community and JTB Heart Club's goal to
purchase additional Automated External Defibrillator (AED) units and sponsor
on-campus CPR/AED training classes.
