3 MAAC Men's Lacrosse Players Are Candidates for Lowe's Senior CLASS Award

Edison, N.J. - Three MAAC Men's Lacrosse players have been selected as candidates for the Lowe's Senior CLASS Award. 20 men's lacrosse candidates were selected to the candidate list and among them are Jacksonville's Jake Ziegler and Siena's Tom Morr and Bryan Neufeld. Siena is one of only two teams in the country (Duke the other) with multiple candidates for the CLASS Award.
Ziegler, a native of Webster, New York, was named to the MAAC All-Academic team and All-MAAC First Team in 2011. He maintains a 3.7 GPA in communications. This past fall, Ziegler accomplished a 4.0 GPA. Outside of lacrosse, Ziegler is a volunteer at senior living community centers and a volunteer coach to young lacrosse players.
Siena's Morr, from Rockville Centre, New York, was named to the 2012 Preseason All-MAAC Team, to the 2011 All-MAAC First Team and has been on the MAAC All-Academic Team for the past three years. Morr has participated in the Center for Disability Services telethon and been active working at youth leagues and lacrosse camps.
Neufeld, from Virgil, Ontario, was selected as the 2012 MAAC Preseason Player of the Year by the MAAC Lacrosse coaches, 2011 MAAC Player of the Year, and 2009 MAAC Rookie of the Year. Neufeld also is a three-time All-MAAC First Team selection. Neufeld is active in the community by visiting and serving meals at the Ronald McDonald House. He also works with youth leagues and lacrosse camps.
The acronym "CLASS" stands for Celebrating Loyalty and Achievement for Stay in School. The Lowe's Senior CLASS Award is presented each year to the outstanding senior NCAA Division I Student-Athlete of the Year across ten different sports. Award winners are determined by a selection process that includes NCAA Division I coaches in each respective sport, nation media, and fans.
