MAAC Basketball Doubleheader on Sunday on ESPN3

Edison, N.J. - Rider University's Alumni Gymnasium will be the site for the final MAAC men's and women's basketball doubleheader to be broadcast this season on Sunday, February 26. Both National MAAC Games of the Week will air live on ESPN3.
The first game of the twin bill will feature a match-up between the women's programs from Fairfield University and Rider at 1:00 p.m. Fairfield, 21-7 overall and 14-3 in the MAAC, is led by senior forward Taryn Johnson, who is registering 13.0 points and 8.1 rebounds per game, and senior guard Desiree Pina, who is averaging 11.4 points and 3.7 caroms a night for the Stags. Rider, 11-17 overall and 3-14 in the MAAC, is led by sophomore guard/forward MyNeshia McKenzie, who is contributing 11.3 points and 9.0 rebounds per game, and junior forward/center Caitlin Bopp, who is posting 9.0 points and 7.0 rebounds an outing for the Broncs.
Game two has the men's teams for the Stags and the Broncs for a 3:30 p.m. tip-off. Fairfield, 17-12 overall and 12-5 in the MAAC, is led by senior forward Rakim Sanders, who is averaging 16.7 points and 8.3 rebounds per game, as well as junior guard Derek Needham, who is contributing 11.8 points and 3.4 assists an outing for the Stags. Rider, 12-18 overall and 9-8 in the MAAC, is led by senior guard Jeff Jones, who is contributing 13.2 points and 2.5 rebounds per game, and senior forward Brandon Penn, who is posting 12.5 points and 6.6 rebounds an outing for the Broncs.
