Chrissy Gutenberger, Manhattan, Sr., Attack, 5-6, Stony
Point, N.Y./North Rockland
Senior attacker Chrissy Gutenberger paced the Manhattan
Jaspers in their 13-12 victory over Bucknell on Saturday at Gaelic Park with
seven points including six goals. Gutenberger leads the Jaspers with 10 points,
nine goals, as Manhattan earned their first win of the season and evened their
record at 1-1. Gutenberger is averaging 4.5 goals per game on the season.
Defensive Player of the Week
Katie Keenan, Fairfield, Jr., Goalkeeper, 5-7, Wantagh, N.Y.
Keenan was perfect in the second-half, blanking Hofstra, to
backstop the Stags come from behind win over Hofstra. She finished the
game with nine saves, five coming in the second-half of play. Keenan also
had three ground balls in the victory.
Rookie of the Week
Christina Fiorinelli, Manhattan, Fr., Goalkeeper, 5-1, Massapequa, N.Y./Massapequa
Freshman goalkeeper Christina Fiorinelli was outstanding in
Manhattan's 13-12 win over Bucknell Saturday afternoon at Gaelic Park stopping
19 shots for her first win of her career. Fiorinelli made two key stops in the
final two minutes of the game with her team up just one to preserve the game.
The 19 saves were one short of the Manhattan single game record and the most
for a rookie.
