Both student-athletes earned a berth on the NABC All-District I teams, with Sanders picking up first team honors and Beamon collecting second team accolades.

Fairfield advanced to the second round after overcoming a 13-point halftime deficit to defeat Yale University by a 68-56 margin. Colin Nickerson scored a team-high 22 points, while Sanders tallied a double-double with 21 points and 11 rebounds. Fairfield shot 64 percent in the second half, while its defense kept Yale to just five second-half field goals and 17 percent shooting from the floor.

Manhattan earned a spot in the second round with its 89-79 win at the University at Albany on Wednesday night. Beamon tallied 34 points in the win as the Jaspers shot a season-best 63 percent from the field. Michael Alvarado returned from an injury in the Albany game, netting 12 points for the Jaspers.
