Burke
batted .500, slugged 1.136 and had an on-base percentage of .522 in five games
last week for the Gaels. He had 11 hits in 22 at bats with seven of the extra
base variety. Burke banged three doubles, a triple and three home runs. He also
scored eight runs and drove in nine while going errorless in seven chances at
both third base and in left field. In Iona's come-from-behind 7-3 win at Lehigh
on Saturday, Burke hit a grand slam in the top of the ninth inning to propel
the Gaels to the victory.

Poplawski pitched a gem
as Siena shocked Conference USA foe Memphis 6-3 at FedEx Stadium Friday night.
The junior southpaw tossed six innings without allowing an earned run, and
struck out eight. After sacrificing an unearned run in the first, Poplawski put
up five straight zeroes, and did not allow a Memphis player to reach third
base.

Guiliano
hit .538 with seven hits in 13 at bats in three contests last week. He slugged
.769 with three doubles, scored three runs and drove in two others as a
tablesetter in the No. 2 hole for Iona. On Sunday at Lehigh, he recorded three
hits in each end of the doubleheader.
