Gallagher flirted with a perfect game in tossing a complete game two-hit shutout as Marist opened conference play with a 1-0 win over Manhattan in the first game of a doubleheader on Saturday. He retired the first 19 Jaspers he faced, and no Manhattan baserunner got as far as third base in the game. Gallagher went the distance with a total of just 92 pitches, 61 of which went for strikes. He did not walk or hit a batter, and recorded two strikeouts. He also induced 17 groundball outs as he pitched his second straight complete game.
