Springfield, Mass. - Second-seeded Loyola University Maryland will face fourth-seeded Fairfield University in the title game of the 2012 MAAC Men's Basketball Championship on Monday, March 5 at 7:00 p.m., live on ESPN2.
Fairfield reached the championship for the seventh time in school history with 65-63 win over Rider in the quarterfinals and an 85-75 victory over Iona in the semifinals. The Stags have won three MAAC titles - 1986, 1987 and 1997.
Loyola claimed victories over Niagara (86-73 in the quarterfinals) and Siena (70-60 in the semifinals). The Greyhounds are back in the championship final for the first time in 18 years, when they won the MAAC crown in 1994.
