Loyola and Marist Take Home MAAC Rowing Weekly Honors

Women's Varsity Four
The Loyola University Maryland women's rowing varsity four finished in first place in the petite final at the Knecht Cup on Sunday, beating out Duke by .5 seconds with a time of 7:48.83. The Greyhounds also edged out teams from North Carolina, Delaware, Boston College and New Hampshire. Loyola had qualified for the petite final after winning its first round heat on Saturday, and then finishing in third in the semifinal heat behind Kansas and Penn State. The boat featured coxswain Katherine Griffin along with Catriona Miller, Margaret Ajello, Andrea Almeida and Julianne Roccuzzo.

Women's Second Varsity Eight
The Marist Women's Freshman 8 took 11th out of 45 boats at the Knecht Cup in Cherry Hill, N.J. this weekend. The squad of Shannon Conway, Kristin Wilson, Steph Moriarty, Megan Romer, Stacy LaRose, Taylor Mullaney, Sam Blau, Amanda Khoury and Liz Hehir finished with a time of 7:19.66 in the final.

Men's Varsity Four
The Marist Men's Varsity 4, consisting of Emma Flynn, Bill Hawxhurst, Ben Smith, Tyler Sawyer and John Boss finished third overall at the Knecht Cup with a time of 6:46.73 ahead of UMass, Philadelphia and Army while behind only Penn State and Fordham.

Men's Varsity Eight
The Marist Men's Varsity 8 finished fourth overall out of 17 boats at the Knecht Cup with a time of 5:55.55 in the final, placing ahead of St. Joseph's and LaSalle. They improved on their time in the semifinals by three seconds. The boat consisted of Chris Leonard, Harrison Reed, Andrew Sayles, Seaton Drebitko, Max Kenney, Chris Behnke, Matt Michaud, Doug Woolley and Sam Garrison.
