Edison, NJ - Manhattan College's Phil Ragan was chosen as the MAAC Men's Outdoor Track & Field Performer of the Week, while Rider University's Mia Riley earned the award on the women's side.

Competing in his first collegiate meet, Ragan, a freshman from Belmar, N.J., set a school record in the javelin throw at the FDU Knight Invitational on Saturday. Ragan won the competition by more than seven meters. His best throw of 64.95 meters (213 feet, one inch) bettered Rajne Svenssohn's 10-year-old school-mark of 64.20 m (210'7).  With that effort, Ragan qualified for the IC4A Championships and NCAA East Regional, as well as the U.S. Junior Championships.

Riley, a junior from West Caldwell, N.J., won both the 100- and 200-meter dashes at the Lafayette 7-Way Meet. Riley ran a 2012 MAAC-best 12.12 in the 100 and finished in 25.55 in the 200.

The 2012 MAAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships will be held Saturday, May 5 and Sunday, May 6 on the campus of Rider University in Lawrenceville, N.J.
